Ferrero Rocher Cake

In about 2 weeks it will be my birthday. As usually, I want to try something new and fantastic. This year, I decided to try the cake before my birthday. I found so many Ferrero Rocher cakes recipes that I spent a whole week deciding which one to try. I finally decided to combine some of them, and this is the result. :)

This time the basic cake is with cocoa, and here are the ingredients you need:
  • 5 eggs
  • 250 gr flour
  • 250 gr sugar
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 ml oil
  • 3 spoons of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking power.
What you need to do is: first, you separate the eggs. Mingle the egg yolks with 50 ml water, then add the sugar. Mingle it well until the sugar is melted. Warm up the rest of the water (50ml) and add the cocoa powder. Mingle it all well with the egg yolks and sugar.
Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt.
In the egg yolk mixture, slowly add the oil, flour, baking powder and in the end the egg whites foam.
Mingle it all well, and your basic cake is ready to be put in the oven. I recomand baking at 180 degrees, for about 30 minutes. But you must check it, and also use the toothpick test.

My basic cake didn`t made it really good this time. I use baking paper, and as you can see the cake isn`t as round as it should be. I made a different post, just to explain my mistake, so everyone can learn from it, just click here.

For the first cream I used:

  • 200 gr nutella
  • 200 gr mascarpone cheese
  • 100 gr peanuts (without salt)
All you have to do is mix the nutella with the mascarpone cheese, and then add the chopped peanuts.

For the second cream I used:
  • 125 gr hazelnuts
  • 250 mascarpone cheese
  • 2.5 spoons nutella
  • 150 ml sour cream.
Before you start making this cream, you have to toast a little the hazelnuts. Just put them on a tray, and leave them in the oven for about 15 minutes, at medium temeperature. Let them cool before you use them.
First you have the mix the sour cream, then add slowly the mascarpone, nutella and the hazelnuts.

And that`s it. If you want to decorate the cake with one of these creams, you have to leave some in a bowl before you add the peanuts or the hazelnuts. I recomand using the first cream to decorate. I think it`s more thicker and easir to work with. And of course, you can decorate the top of the cake with some real Ferrero Rocher.

So, this is my first try of the Ferrero Rocher Cake. I think I`m quite satissfied, but I will definitly make some changes and come back with the final recipe. I could`ve done better. But hopefuly, on my birthday, it will be better, and everyone will love it.
