Homemade snickers cake recipe

This super delicious snickers cake is my father's favorite cake. This is what he asks for every time he has the chance to make a cake decision. The truth is that it`s a delicious cake, and it`s not too hard to make it. We will be using again cake sheets, so if you haven`t heard about them yet, just click here, and you`ll see how they`re done.

For the cake sheets you need the following ingredients:
- 9 egg whites
- 200 gr sugar
- 300 gr nuts
- 1 baking powder
- 2 spoons flour

From these ingredients, you will get 3 cake sheets. First, you have to prepare the nuts. Put them on a tray, and put them in the oven for about 10-15 minutes at a medium temperature. Let them cool, and grind them using a handmill. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt, and then gradually add the sugar. Add the nuts, and using a wooden spoon or a spatula, mix the nuts with the egg whites and the sugar. Gradually add the flour and the baking powder. When you mingled well everything, split the dough into 3 parts, and bake 3 cake sheets for 15 minutes at medium temperature. Again, if you don`t know the procedure, click here to see.

For the cream you will need:
- 9 egg yolks
- 200 gr powdered sugar
- 1 sachet instant coffee (dissolved with 2 spoons of warm water)
- 1 butter

Mingle the egg yolks with the powdered sugar and the instant coffee, and then put in on Baine-Marie (water bath), until it boils. When it boils, take it off, and let it cool. Add the butter, and mingle it well. Split the cream into 3 parts.

On the first cake sheet, put one part of the cream, add the second cake sheet, the second part of the cream, the last cake sheet and the third part of the cream. And again, we`ve arrived at one of my biggest problems. You have to let the cake to settle. If you can, you have to let it settle over the night. If you cut it like I did, after half an hour, your cream will fall from your cake. As you can see in my pictures :)

This cake is not like your usual snicker bars. But it`s so delicious, you can hardly stop from eating. Would you give it a taste?

  8. That looks amazing! I can see why he would ask for it continuously. I'm sure my father would have also. I love a piece on a cheat, although, I'd have to invite company over so I didn't eat the entire thing.

  9. Homemade cakes are the best. I like to make them myself instead of buying a boxed mix or buying a pre-made one. It makes it more personal and special, in my opinion.
